Looking at the evolution of fashion from the stone age to what we have now, we can say that a lot of creativity has been put in over the years to produce timeless art that are still relevant till date.

A fashion analyst once said that the fashion trends we know today are not new in the sense of it, that they are just really recycled ideas.

What does this mean? We pick up old trends and designs and just make them better to suit a modern audience. To a large extent, this seems reasonably true.

A lot of fashion trends have made a comeback since the advent of the 21st century- Color blocking, Afro hairstyles, baggy pants, and the like. ‘The Old money look’ has somehow found its way to the top of this list as it's gotten more attention in recent times.

This look dates back to the rich folks in the 90s and serves to represent Modest and unfading exquisiteness. Beyond the aesthetics, it also serves to appreciate the evolution and root of fashion and how quality and creativity always stand out, irrespective of the length of years.

This isn't exactly a guide as you may have hoped. However, we will be highlighting relevant pieces that help you pull off the old money look quite effortlessly. You can look to the photos for further inspiration.

Quality dress shirts:

Emphasis on QUALITY. The trend is termed “old MONEY” for a reason. These dress shirts could either be made from cotton or silk fabrics and should readily blend with whatever colors you're blending them with.

We'll do a piece on how to pair colors the right way pretty soon. Ensure to visit our site for updates while you shop to earn Cashbacks/rewards. You can start with these quality dress shirts.

Sweater Vests:

It's a great thing that these do not come with sleeves; therefore, they can be worn even in the summer. They could either be worn as a lone pair with nice baggy shorts or pants or worn over a dress shirt or tees.

Sweater Jackets and Sweatshirts are also a viable option. They could just be laced around the neck to add a little bit more spice and color to the overall look.

 Baggy pants/Shorts:

Baggy pants are quite distinct from straight-cut pants. A lot of people falter in the differentiation. For an old-money look, straight pants won't do justice as much as baggy ones would. It's the trend. These shorts on Meshada.com are just the right amount of “baggy” for this look.

These could either be made from plain linen, silk, cashmere, or jean fabrics. Stretchy or overly light fabrics are a no and might just be a “miss” for this look.

Skirts:

Not just any kind of Skirt, mostly long flared Skirts (pleated or not), and straight cut skirts (long ones too) with slits in front or behind.

Skirts must be made with quality and luxurious fabrics as well. We have the right one for you, right here

Blazers/Trench coats/Crop Jackets:

In Outlook, the basic difference between these is the extension in length of trench coats in comparison. They are a longer version of stylish blazers and Crop Jackets. Crop Jackets are equally shorter in length compared to Blazers.

They add a nice touch to your old money aesthetics, giving it a more pristine and sophisticated appearance. There aren't any strict rules regarding the choice of these, except, of course, ensuring that they are made from quality fabrics and are colored to suit the purpose.

And as always, as a brand that is always one step ahead when it comes to your fashion needs, we have picked out the perfect piece for you. Take a look here. Here's a Crop Jacket you might like too.

Vintage Scarfs:

These are mostly made from silk or cotton fabrics. They have a spread of vintage designs and colors and can be incorporated in several ways to finish the look.

You can have as many of these as possible, as they aren't so pricey. Be careful not to confuse them with bandanas, however, or a woolen scarf. Here's what a vintage scarf looks like.
